At Bluedot Dental, we believe local family-centered, pediatric dentistry is an opportunity to shape perspectives, engage young minds, and instill trust. Whether your child is a seasoned pro at the dentist, or is his or her’s first time as a patient — we are keenly aware of the responsibility given to us, and we honor it.

The Bluedot Dental team is committed to not only optimizing your child’s oral health and giving them a dazzling smile, but also working to provide every member of your family with a special positive sense of self. We love what we do.

A visit to the dentist office can make many kids feel anxious and scared. But, we encourage parents to introduce their child to a family dentist as soon as possible. In fact, as of 2019, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends children in the family start going to the dentist by age 1 or within 6 months of their first tooth.

The following are the pediatric dentistry services offered at Bluedot Dental:

Exams and cleanings: Check-ups and hygiene cleanings every 6-months are critical for keeping your child’s smile healthy. Our team always makes these visits fun as we clean your child’s teeth, and check for decay or cavities.

Sealants: Sealants offer the ultimate protection against cavities. Sealants are essentially  protective coatings which are applied to the surfaces of teeth — especially in the back where cavities are most prevalent.

Fluoride: Sure we may get fluoride from tap water and mouth rinses, but for our pediatric patients and families, we go the extra mile by offering them an in-office fluoride treatment. Fluoride is superior in preventing the development of cavities, as well as treating areas of tooth sensitivity.

Orthodontic screenings: As your child gets older, we will keep an eye on his or her orthodontic health, including tooth spacing and bite development.

Pulpotomies: A pulpotomy is a type of pediatric procedure that is performed when the nerve tissue of a tooth is exposed due to injury or a cavity. Part of the nerve tissue is removed and treated with an antibacterial medication in order to preserve the remaining healthy nerve tissue.

At Bluedot Dental, we’ve set up our Gilbert dental practice to make anxious kids (and teens and parents) feel comfortable during every visit.

When preparing for your visit to Bluedot Dental, we suggest the following tips for parents:

  • Try not to treat the first visit as a serious event. Try to make the visit light and casual.
  • Encourage your child to walk around and explore the practice. Doing this will help them get comfortable with the new environment more quickly and easily.
  • Plan your initial “preview visit” during a quiet time of day—that way, your child won’t feel rushed or overwhelmed.

Whether you have dental insurance or not, you can always rely on Bluedot Dental for the best affordable pediatric dental services.
