Do you want a straighter smile, but don’t want to be weighed down by traditional metal braces? Clear aligners might be right for you! At Bluedot Dental, we specialize in Invisalign® aligner therapy.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners that are barely visible to correct crooked teeth. With Invisalign, you are able to straighten your teeth without the bulk and annoyance of braces. You wear the aligners all day, but remove them for brushing, flossing, and eating, which allows you to continue your normal daily routine. The aligners are custom-made for a perfect fit, and are designed specifically to correct whatever issues you need, such as overbite, underbite, overly crowded teeth, gapped teeth, and more.

How does Invisalign work?

Depending on what you need, we’ll create several sets of aligners for you to wear for about 2 weeks at a time. Once the 2 weeks is up, you’ll replace those aligners with the next in the series, so that your teeth will move little by little until they are straight. Treatment time can take anywhere between 6 to 18 months, based on the level of misalignment.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

  • Inconspicuous — One of the best things about Invisalign is that they are almost completely invisible. Traditional straightening apparatuses, such as braces, cause your appearance to be altered in a way that may make people feel self-conscious, especially adults. The clear plastic aligners used in Invisalign allow you to straighten your teeth while still feeling confident about your smile.
  • Removable — You can even take the aligners out for big events like dates, interviews, or parties. The removable nature of Invisalign also allows for better brushing and flossing than traditional braces, and doesn’t restrict what foods you can eat (like biting into corn on the cob or an apple).
  • Comfortable — The aligners are also much more comfortable than traditional braces, which often poke and irritate the inside of your mouth.
